Before we arrive

Ten minutes of prep, a better result.

None of this is required. We will work around whatever is left. But a little prep gets you a better result and a faster visit.

  1. Point out any spots or stains that need special attention when your technician arrives.
  2. We don't move furniture. Please move anything you want cleaned under before we arrive, and leave it off the carpet until it's completely dry. We clean around whatever stays in place.
  3. Clearing small items such as breakables, dining chairs and floor plants ahead of time helps us work faster and reduces time spent in your home.
  4. Pin up any full-length draperies or upholstered furniture skirts that touch the carpet.
  5. Vacuum your carpets and upholstery before we arrive.
  6. Your outside door will need to stay ajar during cleaning for the hoses, so please plan accordingly.
  7. For your pet's comfort, keep them in a quiet, safe space away from the cleaning equipment.

Dry time and after we leave

  • Plan for 12 to 24 hours of dry time. Exact dry time depends on carpet type, soil level and humidity. Your technician can give you specifics.
  • In summer, run your AC before and after our visit to help carpets dry faster. In winter, the furnace does the same job.
  • Keep children and pets off the carpet until it is fully dry, to prevent resoiling.
  • Use caution when stepping from damp carpet onto hard flooring.
  • Furniture removed from the carpet before cleaning should stay off until the carpet is completely dry.

What if a spot comes back?

Some spots wick back up from the padding as the carpet dries. Use the spot out bottle we left you to lift it off the fiber tips whenever it's convenient. If that doesn't do it and the spot was part of a guaranteed treatment, call the office within 30 days and we come back to touch it up at no charge. We refill the bottle free on our next visit.
